Snapshot 2019: Property Wealth

Wealth is defined as total taxable property value divided by the total number of students and is used as an indicator of a district's ability to raise local funds on a per pupil basis. The property value used is the value for tax year 2016. The total number of students is for the 2017–18 school year. For information about the property value, contact the Office of School Finance at 512-463-9238.

Districts are classified into 20 categories with approximately equal numbers of students in each, or approximately five percent of total students per category. The 184 non-taxing districts (charters and the special statutory districts) form a separate group because they have no taxable property wealth.

(Each column header is a link to the list of districts included in each category.)
