December 5, 2012: 2012 Texas Consolidated State Application Workbook - The Texas AYP Workbook was submitted to the United States Department of Education (USDE) on February 15, 2012 and, at USDE's request, resubmitted with their requested revisions on November 13, 2012. The USDE recently provided final decisions in response to Texas workbook amendments (PDF downloads).

February 17, 2012: USDE Approves STAAR Bridge Study - The USDE has approved Texas' proposal to conduct a bridge study between the State of Texas of Academic Readiness (STAAR) and the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) for the purpose of evaluating AYP in 2012 (PDF downloads).

October 12, 2011: 2011 Texas Consolidated State Application Workbook - The Texas AYP Workbook was submitted to the United States Department of Education (USDE) on June 28, 2011. The USDE recently provided final decisions in response to Texas workbook amendments (PDF downloads).

April 22, 2011: Final Commissioner of Education Decision on use of Texas Projection Measure for 2011 Adequate Yearly Progress Calculations - TEA provides the Commissioner's Final Decisions on the State Accountability System for 2011, which include decisions regarding federal accountability.

January 31, 2011: 2010 Texas NCLB Report Cards - pertaining to required United States Department of Education (USDE) Parts I-V reports at the state, district, and campus levels, are now available.

December 21, 2010: Requested Changes to the Texas Consolidated State Application Accountability Workbook - includes proposed changes submitted to USDE for the 2011 and 2012 Texas AYP Workbook (PDF download).

October 29, 2010: 2010 Texas Consolidated State Application Workbook - The Texas AYP Workbook was submitted to the United States Department of Education (USDE) on July 19, 2010. The USDE recently provided final decisions in response to Texas workbook amendments (PDF downloads).

July 23, 2010: The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has issued a To the Administrator Addressed letter regarding recent U.S. Department of Education decisions on proposed amendments to the 2010 Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) calculations. Also provided is the United States Department of Education (USDE) approval of the Texas proposed graduation rate goal and targets for 2010 AYP. The Texas amendment requests submitted in February 2010 for 2010 AYP were fully approved by the USDE on July 12, 2010 (PDF download).

April 14, 2010: Summary of Requested Amendments to the 2010 Texas Consolidated State Application Accountability Workbook - this table (revised December 17, 2010) includes proposed changes to the Texas AYP Workbook submitted to USDE (PDF download).

January 15, 2010: Requested Graduation Rate Changes to the Texas Consolidated State Application Accountability Workbook - The Texas information template submitted to the United States Department of Education (USDE) for peer review contains the proposed changes in the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) graduation rate calculations, as required under final regulations issued by the USDE on October 29, 2008. Additional information includes a one-page summary of the Requested Amendments and Supporting Documentation from TEA (PDF Downloads).

July 6, 2009: Final Agreement with the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) and the Commissioner of Education Regarding the 2009 Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Calculations - The USDE provided final decisions on 2009 AYP in Texas. The response to Texas workbook amendment requests contains USDE final decisions on amendments Texas requested for its AYP Plan.

June 23, 2009: USDE Approves Texas’ alternate assessments - The USDE approved the use of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills–Alternate (TAKS–Alt) and TAKS–Modified (TAKS–M) for AYP calculations (PDF download).

June 12, 2009: 2009 Texas Consolidated State Application Workbook - This workbook submitted to the United States Department of Education (USDE) on June 12, 2009, is the updated Texas AYP Plan which includes changes approved by the USDE on July 6, 2009 (PDF download).

January 30, 2009: Requested Changes to the Texas Consolidated State Application Accountability Workbook - includes all proposed changes submitted to USDE for the Texas AYP Workbook (PDF download).

January 8, 2009: USDE Approves Texas Growth Model - The USDE has approved, with conditions, the Texas Projection Measure, a growth measure that will be used by Texas as a component of its AYP performance calculations (PDF download).

November 12, 2008: TEA Response to USDE Growth Model Questions - TEA supplies requested clarifications to USDE related to Texas's October 15, 2008 growth model proposal (PDF download). A copy of the cover letter, Appendix B: Technical Digest 2007-08 Chapter 1, and the TEA growth proposal may be accessed from the Student Assessment Divisionwebsite (PDF download).

October 15, 2008: Texas submitted a Preliminary Growth Proposal to USDE on October 15, 2008, to include a student growth measure in calculations of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in 2009. TEA will submit a final proposal prior to peer review by USDE in early December. July 30, 2008: Memorandum of Agreement with the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) and the Texas Education Agency Regarding the Texas Assessment for Knowledge and Skills-Alternate (TAKS-Alt) - USDE provides criteria for modifications needed to bring TAKS-Alt into compliance for use as an alternate assessment for students with disabilities (PDF download).

October 27, 2006: USDE Letter on Texas Assessment Peer Review - The USDE informs Texas of its compliance with the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)/NCLB standards and assessment requirements (PDF download).

August 8, 2006:  USDE Response to the August 1, 2006 Request to Waive Displaced Student Group Participation Rate Requirements - The USDE responds to the August 1, 2006, letter regarding campuses failing to meet AYP due solely or partially to the participation rates of the Displaced Student Group (PDF download).

August 1, 2006:  TEA Correspondence to the USDE Pertaining to Campuses with Hurricanes Katrina or Rita Displaced Students and Campuses Directly Impacted by Hurricane Rita - This submission fulfills the requirement related to the May 23, 2006, Katrina/Rita flexibility agreement with the USDE that all districts or campuses failing to meet AYP due solely or partially to the participation rates of the Displaced Student Group must be reported to the USDE for determination of their 2006-07 SIP status (PDF download).

May 23, 2006: Final Agreements with the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) and the Commissioner of Education Regarding the 2006 Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Calculations - The USDE has recently provided final decisions on 2006 AYP in Texas. The response to Texas workbook amendment requests contains USDE final decisions on amendments Texas requested for its AYP Plan. The Katrina/Rita flexibility agreement contains USDE final decisions on how Texas will include students displaced by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in its AYP calculations, and how Texas will handle the unique situation of districts that were closed by Hurricane Rita.

February 1, 2006:  Requested Amendments to the Texas Consolidated State Application Accountability Workbook - includes all proposed amendments submitted to USDE for the Texas AYP Workbook (PDF download).

January 30, 2006:  Flexibility Agreement Between TEA and USDE - On November 30, 2005, USDE and TEA reached a flexibility agreement with respect to the inclusion of students with disabilities in the performance calculations for 2005, 2006, and 2007 Adequate Yearly Progress (PDF download).

August 12 , 2004:  2004 Texas Consolidated State Application Workbook - This workbook is the Texas AYP Plan for the 2003-04 and 2004-05 school years (PDF download).
