Discipline Data Products
This page last updated January 8, 2015

The Discipline Data Products are downloadable reports and files.  The statistics in these products are extracted or calculated from the data collected through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS).  They are grouped into four categories:  Discipline Reports, Discipline Action Group Summary Reports, TAKS Assessment Reports for Students in Discipline Settings, and STAAR Assessment Reports for Students in Discipline Settings.

Choose one category of available reports from the list below.

  • Discipline Reports

The Discipline Reports provide student enrollment data in discipline settings and are available at the state, region or district level.

  • Discipline Action Group Summary Reports

The Discipline Action Group Summary Reports provide counts of students and discipline actions by student categories and discipline action groups. Student categories include ethnicity, gender and economic status. Discipline action groups include in-school and out-of-school suspensions, placement at a DAEP or JJAEP, and explusions. These reports are available at the state, region or district level.

  • TAKS Assessment Reports for Students in Discipline Settings

The Assessment Reports for Students in Discipline Settings from school year 2005-2006 through school year 2010-2011 are based on the results of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), State Developed Alternative Assessment (SDAA)and SDAA II, TAKS (Accommodated), TAKS-Modified, and TAKS-Alternate tests. Since these tests were phased out after school year 2010-2011, the new reports are based on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR™), STAAR Alternate, and STAAR Modified tests results.

For school years 2005-2006 and 2006-2007, these reports contain data on students who took the primary administration of TAKS or SDAA/SDAA II and who received a disciplinary action of DAEP, JJAEP, or Expulsion Without Placement prior to the primary administration of TAKS. They are available only at the state level.

For school years 2007-2008 through 2010-2011, these reports contain data on students who took the primary administration of TAKS, TAKS (Accommodated), TAKS-Modified (TAKS-M), or TAKS-Alternate (TAKS-Alt) and who received a disciplinary action of DAEP, JJAEP, or Expulsion Without Placement prior to the primary administration of TAKS. They are available only at the state level.

  • STAAR Assessment Reports for Students in Discipline Settings

In school year 2011-2012, the implementation of STAAR tests began. Due to the STAAR tests not having been fully implemented in that year, Assessment Reports for Students in Discipline Settings are not available.

For school years 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 , the Assessment Reports for Students in Discipline Settings contain data on students who took the primary administration of STAAR, STAAR EOC (End of Course), STAAR Modified, or STAAR Modified EOC,  and who received a disciplinary action of DAEP, JJAEP, or Expulsion Without Placement prior to the primary administration of the tests. These reports are available only at the state level.
