Snapshot 2016: Property Wealth

Wealth is defined as total taxable property value divided by the total number of students and is used as an indicator of a district's ability to raise local funds on a per pupil basis. The property value used is the value for tax year 2013. The total number of students is for the 2014–15 school year. For information about the property value, contact the Office of School Finance at 512-463-9238.

Districts are classified into 19 categories with approximately equal numbers of students in each, or approximately five percent of total students per category. The 188 non-taxing districts (charters and the special statutory districts) form a separate group because they have no taxable property wealth.

(Each column heading is a link to the list of districts included in each category.)
