Snapshot 2014: Property Wealth

Wealth is defined as total taxable property value divided by the total number of students, and is used as an indicator of a district's ability to raise local funds on a per pupil basis. The property value used is the value for tax year 2011. The total number of students is for the 2012-13 school year. For information about the property value, contact the Office of School Finance at 512-463-9238.

Districts are classified into 20 categories with approximately equal numbers of students in each, or approximately five percent of total students per category. The 207 non-taxing districts (charters and the special statutory districts) form a separate group because they have no taxable property wealth.

(Each column heading is a link to see the list of districts included in each category.)
