2011 NCLB School Report Card Download of All Data

The Download of All Data provides ALL the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Report Card data for the state. For example, when selecting campus data, all campuses will be downloaded. When selecting data, all Part I - Student Achievement data elements will be downloaded. This download feature is especially helpful for researchers.

Notes:

  • All reports, including these downloads, employ significant masking of performance data in order to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). In the download files, masked values are represented with various negative values (-1, -2, -3, -4, -99) indicating the source data are unavailable. For detailed information, please see the Texas NCLB Report Card Masking Rules .
  • These data allow the user to create customized reports. To do so, you will need to write your own data extraction programs to examine these data. You may access the data file by using software such as Wordpad, Access, Excel or other software for customized data for analysis by saving the file with the suffix ".txt".
  • Also note that these files are large. The data files contain a maximum of over 1,100,000 records. The corresponding layout files describe the fields in the data files.
  • The name for each variable is provided as the column head. These names are abbreviated for purposes of programming. For information on the data elements used in the NCLB Report Card Data Download, see the:
         - Master Reference for State Level Data Elements ,

  •      - Master Reference for District Level Data Elements , or the
         - Master Reference for Campus Level Data Elements .
