An AYP Additional Features List of Districts and Campuses is an alphabetical list that shows the number of times additional features were used by each school district or campus in determining Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). Additional features for AYP are defined as alternatives to meeting the federally approved Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs) for each indicator in AYP. These features include the safe harbor provision for the performance component of the Reading/ELA and Mathematics indicators, the use of the two-year average for the participation component of the Reading/ELA and Mathematics indicators, and the use of the Texas Projection Measure (TPM) and the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills-Alternate (TAKS-Alt) transitional growth measure for the performance component of the Reading/ELA and Mathematics indicators.
The List of Additional Features is available as an Excel file (285 pages when printed) for the AYP Reading/English Language Arts and Mathematics indicators. The file may be printed to provide a complete alphabetical list of districts and campuses.
For more information on the Texas Projection Measure, see the Division of Student Assessment websites Student Progress Measures and TAKS-Alt Growth Measure.
An update to the List of Additional Features for the AYP Graduation Rate Indicator will be available soon.
Additional information on the AYP targets and alternative, including the use of growth in AYP may be found in Section II of the 2010 AYP Guide and the Frequently Asked Questions website.
