Overview

These reports include counts of students receiving special education services by primary disability.

The data are compiled from the October snapshot of the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS), a statewide data system for public education information in Texas. School districts submit their data, which are defined in a yearly publication, the TSDS TEDS Data Standards.

These reports include students enrolled in public school districts and charter schools. The reports do not include students in private schools.

Reported Information

Primary disabilities identified for students receiving special education services include the following:

• OI: Orthopedic Impairment
• OHI: Other Health Impairment
• DHH: Deaf And Hard Of Hearing
• VI: Visual Impairment
• DB: Deaf-Blindness
• ID: Intellectual Disability
• ED: Emotional Disturbance
• LD: Specific Learning Disability
• SI: Speech or Language Impairment
• AU: Autism
• DD: Developmental Delay
• TBI: Traumatic Brain Injury
• NCEC: Noncategorical Early Childhood
