Transfer students in these reports refer to students who attend campuses different from their campuses of residence (campuses based on the areas in which students reside).
You may choose a Transfer Report for a selected district or a Transfer Report for all districts in a selected region. Statewide campus level Transfer Reports are available from 2020-21 in CSV.
These data are compiled from the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS), a statewide data
system for public education information in
These reports include students enrolled in public school districts and charter schools. The reports do not include information at private schools.
Each Transfer Report presents a Transfers In From listing and a Transfers Out To listing.
The Transfers Out To listing shows the districts or campuses actually attended by students who live within the boundaries of the report district or campus. That is, for district level reports, students reside in one district but attend school in a different district. For campus level reports, students reside in one campus area, but attend a different school. The listing provides the number of students for whom the report district/campus is their district/campus of residence along with their actual district/campus of attendance. A charter school cannot be a student’s district or campus of residence, so Transfers Out To listings are not provided for charter schools.
The Transfers In From listing shows the districts/campuses from which students transferred to attend school in the report district or report campus. That is, students attend school in the report district or report campus but actually reside within the boundaries of the “transferred in from” district/campus areas. This listing shows the number of students who attend the report district/campus but have a different district/campus of residence. Transfers In From listings are provided for charter schools.
